SPECIAL GLASS COATINGS are designed to improve insulated glass performance. The type of coating will ultimately determine the total “U-Value” of the window. U-Value is simply a term that represents the following formula:

u= btu/hr/sq Ft/delta f

U value equals the total number of BTU’s of energy that pass through a material per hour, per square foot,  per temperature difference between the outside and inside temperature.  WHEW!  Thats why they call it U value.
